Wolf Valley RR The Speculation is Over

Yes you read it right Folks “The speculation is over!!!!!” The Benjamin Daily reported that yesterday, Roy Wolf, Owner and CEO of Wolf Valley Railroad, was in town to make a major announcement. When asked if there really was going to be a railway coming to our area Wolf stepped up on the podium, gave the onlookers a wink, smiled and nodded. “Yes Folks, there is a train a comin’!”

“As you know there has been a lot of talk, and yes, scepticism, for a few years about a railroad.” Wolf says with a grin. “In that time there has been a whole lot of planning and negotiating with landowners, communities and Canadian National Railway.  Folks it is finally here!  As most of you know the terrain around here can be very hard to negotiate and we tried very hard to accommodate the communities that would best suit the new Railroad. Today I would like to announce the first three communities to benefit from the rails. First up will be the Village of Cole. This will come as no surprise as it is next to my family’s valley where we will be building a yard and facility as rail traffic builds. The next town to join our railroad will be your very own town of Benjamin.” Wolf takes a drink of water while he waits for the cheers to subside before he continues. “This only made sense as you are the largest community in our region with the most to gain. The last parish to be announced will be Keaton. Yes it is small but this parish is perfectly positioned to connect with CNR’s Canadaisle division and connecting us to the outside world and opening up and endless amount of possibilities for us all.  My road gangs have been working secretly for the past while blasting, digging and filling unbeknown to the public and you will soon see the rails in each of these communities. I have already spoken with each of the community’s officials and plans are now in the works to start building stations for passengers as this will be the first revenue traffic created by the railroad. This means you will be able to take those trips to the big cities a lot faster and easier. Soon you will also see other commodities such as lumber, perishables and other needed supplies for each of our communities. As each community starts to grow and expand we will also be able to export our own goods to the rest of the world. We see this as a big economic boost for this region.

For now we have negotiated with CNR to allow them temporary trackage rights on our line.  All this means is until we can purchase our own fleet of locomotives and equipment, all equipment will be supplied by the CNR.

Folks it looks like the future is getting brighter for our region and for those wanting to stay here for generations to come.  All I can say about the future for now is, it is looking much brighter and Wolf Valley Railroad is planning for that future.

Although it will still take time, I can assure you there is a future for you and your children right here in our very own region as Wolf Valley Railroad grows and expands. For now, please check with your local community leaders to see what you can do to help develop our region into a flourishing and successful one.

I can see a lot of construction jobs happening right away and we will be looking for Railroad men in the near future as well.” Wolf says with a wink as he steps of the podium and instantly gets surrounded by the excited town folks of Benjamin. I’m sure by the sounds of this; we will hear a lot more from this new railroad company in the future.
