Benjamin Washout!!!

The Benjamin Daily News

“After all the rain we received last month the rivers and creeks rose well past flood levels. Benjamin was badly hit and all the rails were washed out. The town survived but the  industrial area was pretty well destroyed by the rushing current. Benjamin’s mayor Benjamin, “Benny”, as the town knows him by, said “The only saving grace was this area was only under it’s first stage of growth and no structures were built in the flood hit area.”  With the anticipation of the Railroad coming, the folks in town are a little worried as to whether this may cause the railroad to abandon their plans. They are all counting on the new jobs that the railroad will bring to their town. After a meeting with “Benny” and Roy Wolf (Wolf Valley Railroad owner) this rumour was quickly put to rest. Wolf  said “With the help of the town, equipment has been brought in to redirect the creek and build dykes around the town. This work is almost done and the railroad has started to relay the track.” Wolf also added that this was actually a blessing in disguise. “Big things are being planned for Benjamin and if the town does everything they are planning, we were more than likely going to have to realign the trackage in town for them anyway. Now we are helping plan a better future for Benjamin.”
